- History of the Department: – The Department of Hindi is one of the oldest and prosperous departments of Duliajan Girls’ College. The Department was established in 1992 with a good number of students in Higher Secondary level and in T.D.C. level as an MIL subject. In 2010-11, the Department has introduced Hindi as an Elective Language subject. Mr. Bhanu Prashad Sharma joined as a guest Lecturer of Hindi Department in July, 1992. He was the founder Lecturer of the Department. The list of Lecturers / Assistant Professors, who rendered their services and have been rendering in the Department of Hindi is given bellow.

- Only MIL (Hindi) and Elective Hindi are provided to the Department. No Major course in the Department.

- To increase the collection of Reference books and book bank facility.
C- Challenges:
- To attract more students towards the National Language.
- To improve hundred percent good result.
- To enhance more progression of students to higher studies.

- Library:
In Hindi Department there is a Library. The collection of books in the department is very small. Only a few numbers of books are there in our departmental library. It is helpful for both students and teachers of the department. The departmental library books are not issued to students. Books are used as reference books for teaching staff only. Central library provides enough facilities for students and teachers of the college.

- Hindi Divas was celebrated on 16th September, 2016. On the occasion of Hindi Divas, Dr. Kiran Hazarika (Principal, Tengakhat College) delivered a special lecture on ‘The existence of Hindi in the Indian Constitution and its implementation’. Dr. Shailesh Tripathi (Assistant Hindi Officer, Oil India Limited Duliajan) Mrs. Sujata Borkataky (Vice-Principal, Duliajan Girls’ College) and Mr. Amrit Chandra Kalita (HOD, Hindi, Duliajan Girls’ College) also delivered lecture on that occasion.
- Departmental Wall Magazine (Hindi Department) was inaugurated by Dr. Kiran Hazarika, principal, Tengakhat College, Tengakhat on 16th September, 2016.

- SUBJECT OFFERED IN DEGREE LEVEL:
Subject offered in Degree level prescribed by the University under the three year Degree course which is commonly known as six Semester Degree course from 2011. The Dibrugarh University has introduced a new Syllabus for the Degree course.
- Major selection procedure in the Department:
In our college, the department of Hindi has no Major Course. The department has only MIL (Hindi) Course and Elective Hindi Course. In 2010-11 session the college has introduced the Elective Hindi course. Basically we select the students of Elective Hindi course, those who have Hindi as an MIL subject as well as an Elective subject in Higher Secondary level.
